I am almost finished shooting my video for the project.  I originally couldn't decide on what to the video on, I was thinking about doing a fictional film but decided on a  documentary.  A couple of weeks ago I had my video camera at work (I work at Taco Bell).  Well, you see, over the summer I got into watch Ghost Hunters on the Sci-Fi channel (Greensburg doesn't have this channel on basic cable, unfortunately).  I brought up GHost hunters one night with my co-workers and we got to talking about ghosts in general, then my manager started telling me stories about the ghost  there.  Yes, the Uniontown Taco Bell is haunted, supposedly.

So I got the idea one day to do an EVP (electronic voice phenomena) like they do on Ghost Hunters.  Electronic voice phenomena is when noises and voices appear on a recording that were not present during the recording. And I did find somethings.  A couple of strange noises I can't explain and a couple of voices.  One in particular occurred one night when it was me and two other employees who were also female, I found a male voice on a recording that I had done.  It sounded like a guy saying "hey...you..."  That happened in August.

Then, in the middle of January, I was working with my boss April and Tim.  Tim was on drive thru, April and I were making food.  April said to me, someone just walked out of the office.  No one else was there.  Then later that week, I called them and April told me that she and Tim had seen the ghost.

So, if they saw it two times, I figure I'd bring my camera to try and get it on film.  That's when I got the idea for my  film. A couple of weeks ago  I  interviewed my  co-workers talking about their experience.  I plan to film myself or record a voice over, explaining things.  I'm including some EVPs that I have found.
14th-Feb-2008 04:37 pm - Something Interesting in Second Life
What I find interesting in Second Life is that you can create any object you can think of and script it.  It's a great way to practice basic design and scripting techniques and to see how creative some people can be given the opportunity.  It's also interesting to know that some people can make their entire income in Second Life, that just blows my mind.
14th-Feb-2008 04:17 pm - Storyboard
For my story board, the idea I had was a guy gets onto an elevator online, more and more people get on, they guy gets uncomforatble and you begin to see the uneasiness of being enclosed in an elevator with other people show.  At first he just moves away from the other people, then he becomes more uncomfortable because there are too many people and not enough room for him to move away.  The last frame shows him running out the door as it opens.

I printed out storyboard paper from online and drew the  frames by hand (I was going to do it in photoshop but I thought it would look better if I did it by hand, it would have taken a lot longer to do it in photoshop).  I don't draw completely horrible(well sort of horrible), I just can't draw people for nothing, so the people mostly ended up has stick figures, with the exception of a close up of the guy who hates close spaces - in one frame I put a face on him.  Scanned it and saved it has a pdf file, I had difficulties uploading it, my web server won't allow pdf files to it, so I just emailed it using my gmail account because the file was over 5 mb and I don't thinkg you can send files bigger than 5mb through pitt email, because pitt email sucks.
29th-Jan-2008 04:02 pm - 30 sec audio commercial
I didn't really know what to do with this one, so what I eventually came up with is a commercial for a benefit show starring Mr. Kite, taking words and characters from the Beatles song 'Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite' to make it sound like an advertisement for an upcoming concert event, "Saturday at Bishopsgate from 10 to 6 featuring the Hendersons, Henry the Horse, and Mr. Kite...."  Hey, John Lennon took the words from the song from a poster, so I can borrow the words for this:)

I have a goofy, rag like music loop with the vocals( I changed the pitch of my voice from A to C in Audacity) and it ends with a bit from the end of the three stooges theme song.

I recorded the audio in audacity, export as mp3 and imported it into Sony Vegas 8 Pro(a reasonably priced video editing program for PCs that I can do compositing in), a  video editing program so I could drag and drop the different bits of audio, then with Audacity and Vegas open, while playing the commercial in Vegas I recorded it back into Audacity so I could export it as an mp3, not as a video file.

22nd-Jan-2008 04:05 pm - 30 second loop
I made a 30 sec loop using audacity.  I was going to try to use Garage band but ended up playing with iMovie 7.0 (there is no timeline function, wtf), which sucks, so I downloaded iMovie 6.0 HD which is loads better. I went back into audacity.  I had this ambient strings and drums play through the entire clip, with some techno beat fade in. Then about halfway through I added the same drums but made it much faster.
